Robert and Judy Hatton founded Hatton Crane in South San Francisco in 1982. In the beginning, they had just three old trucks, one small crane, and some warehouse space. Their most important assets, however, were their courage to take on large projects, their determination to overcome unique challenges, and their dedication to incorporating exceptional customer service into every job.
In 1994, Robert and Judy's son Gary took over management of the day-to-day operations of the growing company which now included crane, trucking, and warehousing services throughout Northern, Central, and Southern California. Through regular investment in new technology and the gradual addition of new services, Hatton has grown into a full-service, state-of-the-art crane and rigging company. We strongly believe that our growth is in large part a result of our reputation for providing the best customer service in the industry. The second and third generation of the Hatton family can be seen on many jobsites both overseeing the job to make sure it exceeds the customer’s expectation and also up in the cab themselves running the show. From the beginning, the Hatton family has been dedicated to hiring team members who are the best of the best in their fields and also just top-notch, good-hearted people. They make up the family of employees who drive our continued success. Our people truly make the difference.
Team Hatton's fleet has expanded over the years, and we’re now operating our signature "Big Orange" rigs all over the state. We continue to be driven by the values established by Robert and Judy Hatton in our humble beginnings and maintained some 40 years later — values of excellent customer service, safety consciousness, and always looking ahead to how we can serve your needs even better.
There is no doubt that it is these values that continue to set us apart, and the blessing of having the best team of people implementing them makes all the difference.
